Weber State basketball’s Larryn Brooks named Big Sky player of the week

Weber State women’s basketball senior Larryn Brooks was named the Big Sky Conference player of the week after a pair of games full of points for the Wildcats.

Brooks helped the Wildcats (12-4, 4-1 Big Sky) defeat North Dakota and first-place Northern Colorado.

She scored 32 points, made four 3-pointers and grabbed six rebounds in the win over Northern Colorado. She followed that by totaling 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals to beat UND.

The 5-foot-6 Texas Tech transfer is second in the Big Sky with 20.4 points per game and with a free-throw percentage of 87.8.

The Weber State women continue Big Sky play with road games at Sacramento State (Jan. 18) and Portland State (Jan. 20) this week.
